In short: Booxne is free with up to 5 books. Booxne Pro is a one-time purchase sold by Apple, with no subscription. Your reading data belongs to you. These terms are governed by Belgian law and never reduce your rights as a consumer.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of Booxne, the book tracking app for iPhone published by Alessio Munzi (By Alessio), a private individual based in Charleroi, Belgium ("I" or "the publisher"). By downloading or using Booxne, you accept them.
Booxne is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These terms complete it.
2. What Booxne does
Booxne lets you build a personal library: search and scan books, track your reading, rate and review, write notes and quotes, set a yearly goal and view statistics. Booxne requires an iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later.
Book information and covers come from Open Library, a third-party catalog. I do my best to display them correctly but I cannot guarantee that they are complete or accurate. Covers and book descriptions belong to their respective rights holders and are shown for your personal use only.
3. Free version and Booxne Pro
The free version lets you track up to 5 books, all statuses combined, with search, ISBN scan, manual add, shelf, statuses, ratings, reviews, yearly goal, streak, reminders and iCloud sync.
Booxne Pro is an optional in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited books, reading notes and quotes, all statistics, library export and the Pro features added in future updates.
- One-time payment. Booxne Pro is not a subscription. You pay once, at the price shown in the App Store for your country.
- For life. Your purchase stays linked to your Apple Account for as long as Booxne is available and runs on your device.
- Restore. On a new iPhone, use Restore purchase in the Profile tab, with the same Apple Account.
- Payment and refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Right of withdrawal. Booxne Pro is digital content supplied immediately after purchase. When you buy it, you agree that it is supplied right away, which, under EU rules, ends the withdrawal period. Apple's refund policy still applies.
The free features may change in future versions. The features included in Booxne Pro at the time of your purchase remain included.
4. Your content
Your books, reviews, notes and quotes belong to you. They are stored on your iPhone and, if you turn it on, in your private iCloud. Since I have no access to this data, I cannot recover it for you: keep iCloud turned on or export your library regularly (Booxne Pro).
5. Acceptable use
Booxne is meant for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to copy, modify, resell or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law allows it, and not to use it in a way that could harm the service or other people.
6. Intellectual property
The app, the Booxne name and logo, its design, texts and illustrations belong to Alessio Munzi. Apple, iPhone, iCloud and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Booxne is an independent app and is not sponsored by Apple.
7. Updates and availability
I improve Booxne regularly. Some features may change, be added or be removed. I make every reasonable effort to keep the app working, but I cannot guarantee that it will always be free of errors or available on every future version of iOS.
8. Liability
Booxne is provided with care by an independent developer. To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect damage, nor for problems caused by services I do not control, such as iCloud, the App Store or Open Library.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, nor your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.
9. Apple
These terms are between you and the publisher, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Booxne or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. For any question, complaint or claim about the app, contact me at contact@booxne.com. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Standard EULA.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated, for example when a new feature is released. The current version is always published on this page with its date. Important changes are mentioned in the app's update notes.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence. In case of a problem, please write to me first: most questions are solved quickly by email. Otherwise, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts of Belgium or of your place of residence.
